Housing Disrepair Fee Earner

Reed Legal are recruiting on behalf of a well-established firm of solicitors based in Preston who are looking to recruit an experienced permanent, full-time, Housing Disrepair Fee Earner.
To handle a growing caseload of pre-issue and litigated Housing Disrepair Cases whilst also handling road traffic accident claims until a full Housing Disrepair caseload is achieved.
**Duties**:
- Assessing liability and quantum of damages, repairs, and special damages.
- Drafting Court Documents, including witness statements.
- Issuing court proceedings and complying with Court Directions, which may contain very tight deadlines.
- Monitoring Limitation in accordance with the Company guidelines.
- Reviewing & Valuing Medical Reports and/or requesting medical records.
- Collating Special Damages and documentation in support.
- Contacting clients by telephone and maintain regular and pro-active telephone contact with clients.
- Preparing for trials, including arranging and attending pre-trial conferences.
- Instructing and liaising with Counsel.
- Achieving financial and administrative targets set monthly.
- Demonstrating a flexible approach to work, including hours of working.
- Demonstrating a commercial awareness and a pro-active approach to all aspects of work.
- Demonstrating the ability to work effectively as part of a team, while maintaining responsibility for their own caseload.
- Ensuring all cases are dealt with in compliance with the CILEx Code of Conduct, rules, regulations, and Standards.
- Practicing good file management.
- Ensuring all important dates are diarised and actioned when appropriate.
- Keeping up to date with all correspondence and communication relating to all files using Proclaim.
- Complying with Charles A Marshall’s practices and procedures.
- Contributing to maintaining and improving office procedures.
- Assisting with the efficient running of the office generally.
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
- Carrying out any other related tasks that may arise in the course of employment, including assisting in other sections within the Litigation Department
**Salary** - circa 30K DOE
Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00 with 1 hour lunch break.
