Warehouse Operative (with Forklift License)

Ilkeston, Derbyshire

Job Description: As a Warehouse Operative with a Forklift CB License, your primary role will be to support the smooth operation of the warehouse by handling various tasks related to the movement and storage of goods. This position is based in Ilkeston, Derbyshire.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operating a forklift cb truck to safely load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse.
- Receiving incoming shipments, verifying their contents, and comparing them with purchase orders or invoices.
- Inspecting and properly storing goods in designated areas, ensuring accurate inventory management.
- Picking and packing orders according to customer specifications or internal requests.
- Utilizing warehouse management systems or other software tools to track inventory levels and update records.
- Conducting regular stock checks and reporting any discrepancies to supervisors.
- Collaborating with team members to fulfill orders efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment, including sweeping, organizing shelves, and disposing of packaging materials.
- Adhering to health and safety regulations and following proper handling procedures to prevent damage or accidents.
- Assisting with other general warehouse duties as required, such as manual lifting, labeling, and restocking shelves.

**Requirements**:

- Valid forklift operator certification/license.
- Proven experience as a warehouse operative, preferably with forklift operation experience.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, and packing.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems or similar software tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling goods and updating records.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good physical fitness and stamina for manual handling tasks.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

Hours: 06:00 - 16:00 (1 hour lunch)
