If this sounds like you, this role at Climate Strategies might be exactly what you are looking for: we are hiring a **Communications and Members Associate** to support the implementation of our ambitious Communications and Member Engagement Strategies. This is an entry level position - no previous professional experience is required.

This role will involve maintaining and amplifying the Climate Strategies brand across all channels, supporting programmatic staff with the communications needs of respective projects, and building relationships with new and existing members of our organisation. You will help to increase engagement and reach audiences shaping policy and programmes internationally, broadening partnerships and mobilising resources to meet and exceed the Climate Strategies mission and impact.

For the first six months, this role will have a strong focus on our EEIST project(eeist.co.uk).

**Location**

This position can be based either inour co-working space in **the Netherlands** (Utrecht) or **London** (near Liverpool Street). Therefore, all applicants must have the legal right to work in the Netherlands or the UK. Please note, we are unable to sponsor work visas for this position.

This position is hybrid so all applicants must be able to commute to either the Utrecht or London office at least once per week.

**Essential criteria**
- Relevant university degree or equivalent experience using digital communications to meet organisational/campaign objectives.
- A confident communicator and presenter with the ability to build collaborative relationships with a diverse global network.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, professional printing/publishing skills.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- A creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
- An ability to use a data-led approach to measure the impact of communications using tools such as Google Analytics.
- Strong organizational, planning and time management skills, with ability to work flexibly, multi‐task, produce and coordinate projects independently in a dynamic environment.
- An ability to translate complex concepts into digestible, engaging communications products (e.g. toolkits, newsletters, policy briefs) for a range of audiences, using feedback from programme and networks staff, research partners and stakeholders.
- Advanced IT skills including Microsoft, internet-based tools, and social media.

**Desirable criteria**
- Experience with media relations, writing press releases.
- Knowledge of environmental economics.
- Knowledge of thought-leaders and social media influencers in this space.

**What you will be doing**
- Creating inspiring and engaging written and multimedia content for digital channels.
- Daily news monitoring.
- Managing social media channels.
- Using relevant tools to measure the impact of communications and engagement.
- Copy-editing and reviewing a variety of documents including scientific reports, press releases, op-eds.
- Engaging with international networks of climate researchers and policy makers.
- Supporting with the design and delivery of Member Seminars and other events.
- Updating the member database and engagement tracker.
- Working on projects at the cutting-edge of climate policy research.
