Oxford, United Kingdom Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Are you proactive and passionate about innovation and providing a high-quality holistic approach to the care of people who need mental health support?

Do you want to work in an integrated setting in primary care with colleagues from primary care, mental health services, including the voluntary and community sector, to improve access to support for people with mental health issues?

As part of our services across Oxfordshire we are implementing Primary Care Mental Health hubs to support GP practices with Mental Health assessment and support for patients in their communities.

There are four fulltime Assistant Psychologist posts across Oxfordshire in the following locations: Keystone MH & Wellbeing Hubs - BBL & East Oxford, Oxford City North & NE (location TBC), Abingdon & Banbury.

If you recognise the longstanding gap between Primary Care and traditional secondary care mental health services for patients this could be the job for you to be able to make a difference.

You would be joining a supportive multi-disciplinary team of psychologists, nurses, personality disorder specialists and peer support workers within the primary care hub. You will support the hub team to focus services in local communities and local GP practices to help rebuild and reconnect healthcare teams across the communities they serve.

This is a new and developing service and therefore offers excellent opportunities for innovation and shared learning. Supervision and management would be provided by the Psychologist already embedded within the hub. CPD opportunities are available to help you consolidate your therapeutic skills and progress in your career.

Your role would involve working with clients who are experiencing significant mental health difficulties offering assessment formulation and evidence based group interventions. The hub is focused on helping people live well within their community and therefore a holistic approach to assessment and community linking is welcomed.
