**Main function of the job**:
This role has overall oversight and management responsibility for the International Infrastructure & Shared Services function that provides centralised business management, control execution and infrastructure services across the international regions. This role also includes oversight of Enterprise functions that operate in the regions.

As a key leadership role within the International COO team this role will be expected to act as a delegate for the International COO as required, representing the International COO team across a wide range of business and support function stakeholders. The role holder needs to demonstrate a strong understanding of the CIB and CB businesses to ensure effective prioritisation of services and support, while ensuring services performed meet international regulatory expectations and requirements.

The role has line management responsibility for International leads for control execution, outsourcing, new business initiatives, business management and regional leads for resiliency, property and safety. The role will have overall management responsibility for a team of c.50 team members.

**Responsibilities**:
**Business Management**
- Provide business management oversight and management for the direct cost base under the responsibility of the International COO function, including running quarterly business reviews, financial forecasting, headcount and cost planning and tracking.
- Act as a key point of contact with corporate properties to inform future workspace planning requirements.
- Drive improvements to expense management and supply chain processes, develop controls and reporting where required.
- Co-ordination of ICOO SMF meetings and subsequent preparation of ICOO submissions to Legal entity excos/ boards. Provide secretarial support to business meetings where required.
- Establish central metrics and reporting capability for International COO.
- Provide Legal Entity Contact support and co-ordinate the annual Recovery & Resolution Planning process with Treasury and other key functions.

**Control Execution**
- Establish and run a control execution team for the ICOO function that operate a catalogue of shared service controls on behalf of the business in partnership with the US CIB COO team.
- Drive ongoing improvements to the COO control environment, identifying and remediating gaps, automating and offshoring where appropriate.
- Oversee all issues assigned to COO, including initial challenge on ownership, ensuring corrective actions are designed and owned appropriately to meet required remediation and ongoing oversight.

**Outsourcing**
- Support and oversee ongoing maintenance of outsourcing registers for legal entities, and periodic review of service relationships for affiliates and third parties.
- Partner with Enterprise to align outsourcing target state.

**Business and Operational Resilience**
- Lead regionally focused teams to manage business continuity planning, incident management and affiliate and third-party outsourcing processes aligned to Enterprise and local regulatory requirements.

**New Business Initiatives**
- Partner with US team to implement a global risk management strategy and operating model for new product approvals and product reviews.

**Infrastructure Services Team**

Oversight of the day-to-day management of the following services in line with Enterprise and local regulatory requirements, including but not limited to:

- Health and Safety
- Corporate Security Services
- Office Services
- Corporate Properties Group
- Supply Chain Management

This role may be required to undertake additional responsibilities, as directed by the International COO.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Strong leadership ability to influence, negotiate and build consensus with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work dynamically and manage multiple priorities while maintaining a cadence of business-as-usual activity.
- Ability to manage and drive forward high impact initiatives and partner with a diverse group of stakeholders from a range of LOB and Support Functions, based globally.
- Excellent collaboration, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels, delivering through people, including global leadership in other international regions.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse complex data and business issues and identify key risks/mitigating controls, combined with a pragmatic approach to prioritisation and problem solving.
- Strong understanding of the CIB and CB business and proven experience in running CIB aligned support functions such as business management and operations.
- A comprehensive understanding of evolving regulatory requirements on Outsourcing, Operational Resilience, Data Management, Financial Crimes, and other expectations for controls operated by the COO function.
