**The Company**
Nigel Wright Supply Chain and Procurement Team are delighted to be supporting an innovative design and manufacturing business in the Teesside area to recruit a Purchasing Manager.
**The Opportunity**
The Purchasing Manager will manage a small team and will have full Purchasing and Supply Chain responsibility for multiple sites.Key elements of the role will include:
- Strategic sourcing, contract negotiations
- Resourcing and dual sourcing for key commodities and components to secure the Supply Chain, mitigating risk for growth forecast
- Ensuring correct flow of materials for manufacture, at the right time, of optimal quality and competitive cost
- Managing a dynamic demand and thus changeable material flow utilising current Excel based MRP style process
- Devising and implementing key process improvements in terms of Supply Chain, Planning and Purchasing best practice
- Supporting NPD projects
- Supplier-/contract performance management
- Managing and mentoring small team
**About You**
The successful Purchasing Manager will have/be:
- A strong Supply Chain and Purchasing background and will be experienced in implementing new Supply Chain/Planning processes and systems
- Good knowledge of Purchasing and Planning best practice, ideally gained from within an SME environment
- Purchasing experience from within a Manufacturing and/or Engineering environment beneficial
- Excellent supplier
- and contract negotiation skills, strong communicator
- Assertive, confident and proactive approach
- Able to work at pace in a dynamic environment, adaptable to changing priorities and requirements
