**Senior Technical Manager - Digital Forensic Technology Lead**

**Salary: £58,460 to £62,614 plus a Location allowance of £1,721. You will receive £58,460 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £62,614 will be via incremental progression.**

**Location: Lambeth HQ**

You’ll be making a direct contribution to Digital Investigation in a fast-moving and ever-growing policing technology environment.**

We’ll look to you to manage, co-ordinate and influence existing ICT and enabling technologies across Digital Forensics. You’ll maximise expert networks and deliver solutions in collaboration with key stakeholders in Digital Policing and beyond, and aim tomaintain and improve existing technology while you deliver brand new technology capability to forensic specialists and front line policing.

**Role Duties and Responsibilities;**
- Responsible for delivery of technology servicesand ensuring Digital Forensics technology tools are fit for purpose to support tactical delivery across frontline policing and Digital Forensics
- Establish standards across disciplines which can include a programme of review and action so as to ensure continual improvement of processes and requirements relating to systems such as data management
- To identify forensic technology improvements and opportunities, technical capability gaps and provide problem solving capability and solution delivery to meet this challenge
- Responsible for aligning Digital Forensic technology plans with the Met Direction
- Financial management including preparing budgets and forecasts and exercising financial control of allocated funds, producing estimates of projected spend and financial reports
- Work in partnership with Directorate of Forensic Services Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to develop and deliver change
- Responsible for managing relevant commercial IT suppliers on behalf of Digital Forensics
- Comply with all Health and Safety obligations
- Be prepared to be on-call and work outside of normal office hours as investigations or critical activities require (Infrequent)
- Responsible for critical systems business continuity plans (document, influence and respond when necessary i.e. system shutdowns)
- To work within the Directorate’s Quality Management System and actively participate in the continuous improvement of the system by engaging in audits, competence tests, reporting non-conformances and suggesting changes to improve the system.
