We have a new vacancy for a General Operative to join our team at our Astley Asphalt Plant in Wigan

As a General Operative reporting to Plant Supervisor you will assist in a wide range of duties at site that will ensure that the sites high profile of both a safe working & productive environment is maintained and assisting site management wherever possible.

The new employees will be multi disciplined learning all aspects of the site from weighbridge administration, housekeeping duties, and mixing finished products. Operating machinery and equipment provided to carry out the duties of the post and to undertake the relevant training.

**What will you bring?**
- You will have a sound appreciation of Health & Safety, housekeeping and environmental regulations
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- Background in a quarry or asphalt environment is desirable
- Experience mixing consistently excellent material using the Plant Computer.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong IT literacy.
- Flexibility with work hours and willing to work weekend.
- The desire for training and willingness to learn
- Previous experience operating fixed plant
- Experience in the operation of weighbridge; moving and loading materials
