More detail about the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Exercise Therapist to join the Physiotherapy Team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (Eastern Services). The post-holder is responsible for providing exercise intervention to patients attending the Living with and Beyond Cancer service (LWBC) at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. Caseloads will consist of patients who are attending the Haematology and Oncology clinics and will require thorough assessment and delivery of exercise therapy in both 1:1 and group settings.
The post-holder will be supporting patients on a cancer pathway with symptoms relating to breathlessness, fatigue, deconditioning, exercise and motivation. The post-holder is responsible for their own workload and will involve delivering group exercise classes, providing prehabilitation and being flexible to follow up patients if required. The group exercise classes will run on the Ottery St Mary Hospital site and the post-holder must be able to drive and have access to a road-worthy vehicle. Working Pattern: 22.5 hours per week, over three days (must include a Monday and Friday).
