Graduate She Advisor

**We have an exciting opportunity to join our leading-edge Graduate programme for a SHE Advisor - For start from September 2023**

As a Graduate SHE Advisor, you will be responsible to your Line Manager for the execution of your individual duties.

**About the project**

As Heathrow embarks upon its 7th regulatory period “H7”, Costain was awarded two lots as Major Project Partner and Asset Renewal Partner for Terminal 2 - The Queen’s Terminal.

**Location**:
Heathrow Airport - Terminal 2 - **Full UK** **Driving Licence is essential for this role**

**Responsibilities**:

- Understand the Company Health & Safety and Environmental Policies and Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the company’s operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented
- Assist the Contract SHE functions and support the development of SHE solutions to enable the Contract / Operational Teams to implement the SHE Management System.
- Gain experience, knowledge and develop relationships with stakeholders, whilst maintaining an independent and objective view of SHE Performance on the Contract.
- Assist and support the SHE and Contract Operational and Supply Chain Teams and develop relationships with Stakeholders to successfully implement the SHE Management System
- Assist and develop skills to enable the future delivery of training, to allow the contract team to successfully implement the SHE Management System
- Assist and support the SHE, Contract Operational and Supply Chain Contractors in the delivery of the Contract SHE requirements
- Assist and actively support the delivery of the annual Contract and Group SHE Objectives
- Assist and actively engage with the Contract SHE Assurance programme to ensure compliance with company and statutory requirements
- Actively assist with the investigation of all unplanned events and close out of assurance findings, ensuring lessons are shared in accordance with the SHE Management System
- Assist with the timely reporting, analysis, and use of SHE data to support and influence the Contract Leadership Team

**Costain's Graduate Development Programme**

The programme will focus on helping you to grow your personal and leadership skills, alongside business and of course, the technical skills you will learn day-to-day on the job.

The programme is delivered in a variety of formats throughout the 2 years and will allow you to establish a network of contacts that will help and support you through your first 2 years and beyond. We expect some of our graduates to rotate after a period of 8-12 months, to another project/sector of the business to fully understand the depth and breadth of the services offered by the company.

Our line managers are fully supportive of the Graduate Development Programme and will be involved in helping you along the way.

In addition to the programme, we offer mentoring and support in every area of work, as well as a structured training programme to enable graduates to work towards achieving Chartership.

Graduates may have the opportunity to work on a number of exciting and progressive projects around the UK during the 2-year period, in sectors including nuclear, highways, rail, water, airports and tunnels.

**Qualifications**

**Essential**:

- Bsc in Health & Safety Management Or Health, Safety and Environment Management Or Environment Management Or equivalent
- Grad IOSH
- Full UK Driving Licence

**Desirable**:

- Work placement and/or relevant SHE experience in relevant industry/field
- Degree with an element of Environmental Management
- Grad IOSH and registered for Initial Professional Development (IPD).
