A vacancy has arisen for a Registered Biomedical Scientist based in Haematology and Blood Transfusion at Leighton Hospital.

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to join our team based at Leighton Hospital. You must be a strong team player who can effectively contribute to the on-going delivery and development of the service.

Please note the post holder will be required to participate in a shift rota (Agenda for Change terms and conditions), following a suitable period of training. Working days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays is an integral part of this post.

The Haematology Laboratory is equipped with three Beckman Coulter DxH 800 FBC analysers, 2 Werfen ACL TOP 350 coagulation analysers and Starrsed Auto Compact ESR analyser. Blood Transfusion is equipped with Bio-Rad IH-1000/IH-500 blood grouping analysers. The LIMS system is currently Clinsys LabCentre; soon to be upgraded to Clinisys Winpath Enterprise.

Continuous professional development is actively encouraged and attendance at appropriate internal and external courses is supported.

Cross-site working at other North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service laboratories may be a requirement.
