Apprentice Pharmacy Assistant

We are located in the heart of Jarrow town centre in close proximity to Palmers community hospital. We offer a free prescription collection and delivery service from all doctors surgeries in Jarrow Hebburn and South Shields.

**Working hours**

15 months

Up to 40 hours per week

Monday - Friday 8:30am to 6pm

Some Saturday work required 9am to 12pm

**What will the apprentice be doing?**
- Support with patient consultations
- Dispensing medicine
- General admin
- Dealing with over the counter and phone enquiries
- Use of the computer and the pharmacy specific software
- Checking off and unpacking orders
- Stock management
- Date checking of stock
- Processing NHS prescriptions

**Training and qualification levels**
- Pharmacy Assistant Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard
- Medicine Counter Assistant Course accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council [GPhc]
- Dispensing Assistant Course accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council [GPhc]
- GCSE or equivalent English (Grade C/4 or above) essential
- GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade C/4 or above) essential

**Job Types**: Full-time, Apprenticeship

**Salary**: £5.50-£6.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Work Location: One location
