We are looking to add a Senior Medical Writer to our team to undertake the writing/editorial development of a broad range of projects, facilitating the completion of these projects from first draft through to final deliverable, and liaising with other teams both internally and externally as required. The SMW should have experience of delivering materials ranging from scientific to more commercial in focus and for a broad range of audiences (from experts through to patients). Limited review of materials and coaching/supervision should be necessary. The SMW may also have coaching and/or line management responsibilities for more junior writing staff, depending on assigned accounts.

**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**:
= Structure,write, edit and proofread a broad range of materials, ensuring accuracy andappropriate referencing, with limited coaching/supervision required

= Ensurethat communications reflect client requirements and are optimallypresented/communicated

= Reviewthe work of more junior members of the team as required and coach them (workingwith the more senior editorial team members as required) with the aim ofensuring that they understand the above requirements and progress towards beingable to develop copy to a similar standard

= Toadhere to Elements review and QC processes (and client review processes asrequired) to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance of written deliverables

= Developaccurate estimates of editorial time for budgetary purposes

= Completethe written aspects of projects on time, to the clients brief and withinbudget, identifying discrepancies and ensuring that the project team are awareof these at the earliest opportunity

= Workingwith the project team, and other writers as appropriate, to proactively managethe editorial workload of designated accounts, taking a long-term view andalerting your line manager to potential resourcing concerns or freelancerequirements in a manner that enables resourcing requirements to be addressedwell in advance

= Todemonstrate excellence in client service, being recognised by the client as animportant and valuable member of the team

**Experience and Qualifications Required**:
= Provenexperience as a writer in medical communications with demonstrated ability todevelop appropriate materials with limited supervision (generally 5 yearsexperience)

= BSc /MSc / PhD or equivalent
