Mastercard Summer Internship Program
The Mastercard Summer Internship Program is a comprehensive program where students will gain hands on real work-life skills while having fun and contributing to a global company. As an intern, you will be challenged with completing projects that will enhance your skills as well as contribute to the department’s goals and objectives.
Across the summer, you’ll jump into experiencing work & life at Mastercard whilst gaining valuable professional experience and the opportunity to network. Successful interns also have the opportunity to secure a place of our Launch program upon graduating, which you can find out more about here.

What you’ll do
There are a few different Finance Summer Internship opportunities in London for 2023. Please highlight if you have a particular preference in your CV and Cover Letter, otherwise based on your profile you would be matched to the role seen to best align with your skillset:
Commercialisation
The Commercialisation Office’s mission is to commercialize new areas for Mastercard’s technology and network, by using our core competencies in new and strategic ways and partnering with leading enterprises to address global opportunities. You would support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and long-range strategic planning, as well as performance metrics and partner with business management to achieve financial results, highlighting risks & opportunities and provide sound recommendations to achieve targets.
Financial Planning and Analysis
FP&A provide best in class financial decision support to the CFO and Presidents of the International Business at Mastercard. Collaborating across regions, finance functions and business teams, IMK FP&A delivers analysis on business performance, key trends and opportunities and risks to support the delivery of the company’s financial and strategic objectives.
Finance Business Partner
Provide support to the UK & Ireland, Nordics & Baltics finance team with a broad range of finance related responsibilities. These include the analysis of customer performance, understanding how to monitor the divisions revenue and expenses and assistance with preparing monthly financial reports.
Also assist with tasks set out by various finance teams such as reconciliations and working closely with different team members to learn more about the company.
What you’ll need
- To be available to work Full-Time between approx. Mid-June to Early-Sept
- To be a Penultimate Masters/Undergraduate Student, due to graduate no earlier than 2024
- Studying Finance & Accounting, Economics or similar
- Innovative thinking and thoughtful risk-taking.
- Ability to partner across the organization.
- Sound communication skills.
