**Position: Health Check Assistant**

**Overview**:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Health Check Assistant to join our team at Medicare Health Checks in Huddersfield over Summer. The Health Check Assistant will be responsible for conducting health assessments, including blood pressure checks and other screenings, to promote health awareness and early detection of medical conditions within the community. This role requires strong clinical skills, empathy, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Health Assessments:

- Perform health assessments, including blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings, and other health measurements.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide education on preventive measures and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to identify individuals at risk and provide appropriate interventions.

2. Patient Care and Counselling:

- Establish rapport with patients and create a supportive and comfortable environment for health screenings.
- Provide personalized health counselling and education to empower patients to take control of their health.
- Address patient questions, concerns, and anxieties with empathy and compassion.

3. Documentation and Reporting:

- Maintain accurate and detailed records of health assessments, screenings, and patient interactions.
- Document findings and recommendations in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Generate reports and summaries for patients and healthcare providers as needed.

4. Collaboration and Referral:

- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and referrals for further evaluation or treatment.
- Ensure timely communication and follow-up with patients regarding test results and recommended follow-up care.

5. Continuous Learning and Development:

- Stay current on best practices, guidelines, and advancements in preventive healthcare.
- Participate in continuing education activities and professional development opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in conducting health assessments and screenings, including blood pressure measurements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and educate patients.
- Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centred approach to care.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems (preferred).

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Zero hours contract
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: £15.00-£20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 37.5 per week
