Kinkell Byre is the original barn venue, based just outside St Andrews with gorgeous views of the sea. We are a busy, family-owned weddings and events venue that have been hosting events for 20 years this year Annually we have around 85 events, mainly weddings, but we also have student events and corporate dinners.
Our mission is to make people happy and deliver their perfect day. Excellent Customer Service is at the heart of everything we do and our team is here to ensure everything runs smoothly throughout each event.
We are a farm diversification business and are always looking to grow and develop into new areas. Our latest big project was building 10 self catering Cabins onsite which were opened at the end of summer last year. We are also Rewilding Kinkell where amongst many other things, we are planting thousands of trees to enhance the sustainability of the farm. New potential ideas for the future include renewable power generation, a cafe, some more accommodation and more We have a student storage business for St Andrews university, which keeps us very busy over the start and end of summer.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun-loving individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a broad range of other skills to bring to the table. **Job description**
**Job Title: Wedding and Events Venue Assistant**
- Kinkell is looking for a new “**Byre Assistant**” to help run our busy wedding and events venue. The job role ranges from showing prospective couples around the venue to working with couples through the day of their wedding and ensuring we maintain the **highest levels of customer service at all times.**:
- **Experience **in the events and/or hospitality sector would be a plus, but is not essential.
- Most importantly of all, we are looking for someone who is **fun**, **creative**, **organised**, **full of ideas **and prepared to **muck in**
- This is currently a **part-time** and seasonal position, but the role is likely to develop with the business. Shifts will vary each week so we need someone flexible to work weekdays and weekends. Summer is very busy here at Kinkell so we need someone who can **commit to having good availability** throughout the summer months.

- **Compensation **will start at the **Real Living Wage**:
- You will **need a car** to get to and from work as public transport isn't easily accessible to the venue at required shift times
Reports to: Byre Manager
Responsible for:
- **Operations **- the Byre Assistant is front of house for the set up day and the day or night of events, ensuring the couple or clients are happy. Also supporting with planning logistics in advance and delivery of events in the lead up. The role will involve some late night shifts
- **Sales **- support the entire sales process, helping to generate and handle new enquiries, conduct viewings, answer questions, carry out closing of bookings and following up after the event
- **Marketing **- support work to understand the marketplace and trends, work with Byre Coordinator to take photos and post for our Social Media
- **Admin **- support office and admin tasks as directed
- **Cabins **- front of house, completing opening and closing checklists, supporting sales, marketing, bookings and other admin
- **Organisation **- help optimise business processes, analysis and efficiency
**Experience & Characteristics**
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and happy to muck in when needed
- Proven high standards, strong organisational skills and professionalism
- The following experience would be great but is not essential: customer services, sales, marketing, events, weddings and hospitality
