**Hours**:37 hours per week

**Salary: Full time - £25,842.80 (Unqualified) - £28,090.00 (Qualified)**

**Fixed contract until March 2026.**

**Job Purpose**:
This role is part of the Swindon Domestic Abuse Support Services. The organisation aims are to significantly reduce domestic abuse and sexual violence and the harm caused by it through effective prevention and early intervention.

Delivering a one-to-one prevention programme to perpetrators, aiming to make positive change and prevent domestic abuse. Focusing on a whole family approach allows us to provide support to both perpetrator and victim. We aim to reduce repeat victimisation through reducing harmful behaviours.

Delivering a service that is culturally flexible, appropriate, accessible and equitable to people of all ages, genders, ethnicities abilities and sexual orientations, in addition to those from more deprived backgrounds and those with multiple, complex needs

You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service outside normal working hours.

**Main duties**:

- Provide specialist advice and support for those who abuse others in a domestic setting, helping them to: o Identify their unhealthy/abusive behaviour patterns; o Identifying wider factors impacting on the presenting situation (e.g. substance misuse, child emotional wellbeing, mental health and safeguarding) and work collaboratively with appropriate agencies to deliver an integrated, coordinated and effective family-based response. o Understand the impact this abuse has on others, victims, children and family members
- Identify and assess the risks and needs of individuals who are abusive in a relationship or other domestic setting.
- Follow the escalation policy as required e.g. adult safeguarding/child safeguarding.
- Advocate for individuals who need to address their abusive behaviour **.**:

- Understand the role of all relevant statutory and non-statutory services available to those who are abusive and how your role fits into them; adopting a trauma informed approach.
- Understand multi-agency partnership structures and work within a multi-agency setting which may include participation at the MARAC and other professional meetings.
- To work closely with IDVAs and the Family Support Workers to ensure safety and support for the whole family.
- Establish positive, proactive and innovative working relationships with external services and partner agencies across Swindon
- Advise other members of SDASS staff and those from partner agencies on the programme and related issues.
- Ensure that all equality issues are considered when offering advice and support.
- Ensure support provided is accessible to clients in terms of location and times
- Be proactive with your line manager in carrying out regular case reviews based on a review of risk and abuse which:

- Feedback into action planning to further progress, signpost or closed cases.
- Help maintain accurate and confidential case management records and databases and contribute to monitoring information for the service.
- Respect and value the diversity of the community in which the services works in, and recognise the needs and concerns of a diverse range of people ensuring the service is accessible to all.
- Remain up-to-date and compliant with all organisational procedures policies and professional codes of conduct and uphold standards of best practice.
- Utilise evaluation and monitoring systems to ensure high standards of service are consistently achieved.

**Other**
- Prepare reports for management as requested.
- Comply with data protection legislation, confidentiality and information sharing policy and procedures and all legislation connected to your work.
- Support colleagues and partner agencies, through awareness raising and institutional advocacy, in order to provide the best possible service for those who are abusive within a family setting.

**General**
- Work at all times in accordance with the requirements of the Lone Working Policy and Procedure.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings.
- Update written and computerised records with accurate and clear information.
- Contribute to effective team working with a flexible and pro-active approach, including cover for other team members’ holidays and sickness.
- Undertake agreed training and keep updated on changes in legislation, policy and best practice.
- To engage in supervision, annual appraisal and induction training
- Promote and raise awareness of this service

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure confidentiality of information relating to vulnerable people.
- Share information appropriately where there are concerns for children, young people and/or vulnerable adults.
- Work within SDASS Policies and Procedures at all times.
- Responsible for security of client information and equipment while out of office.
