Acorn Recruitment is hiring a Resource Operation Centre Schedulers within the Exeter area on behalf of a renowned Health Trust.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- The ROC Lead Scheduler is a progressive role from the ROC Scheduler, and it is expected all Lead Schedulers will have completed time as a ROC Scheduler. They will be expected to be able to demonstrate and evidence the required competencies and to have undertaken set training, progression, and development-opportunities in order to progress.
- The Lead Scheduler is responsible for delivering resourcing services in line with the areas of ROC responsibility, facilitating the operational needs of the service and considering the requirements of Trust employees while strictly adhering to Trust Policy, SOP and relevant legislation. They are responsible for assisting the Senior ROC structure in delivering National, Corporate and local Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and for providing mentorship and day to day instruction for the ROC Schedulers.
- The post holder will maintain, administer and oversee the Global Rostering System (GRS) for the management of resources and fleet, and the co-ordination of personnel records, rota patterns and abstractions; including the handling of sensitive and confidential information. This will include testing and roll out of software updates, providing help facilities and being responsible for information and records.
- They will be responsible for monitoring resource levels using the GRS system and a suite of approved reports, proactively improving resource levels via pre-determined processes and providing guidance and support in this area for the ROC Schedulers, including raising any concerns regarding resource levels to the ROC Supervisor or Manager appropriately, and within suitable time frames.
- The post holder will already have, and demonstrate, the ability to maintain excellent working relationships; they will be required to review, understand and explain a broad range of complex data, scheduling processes and Trust policy. They will communicate effectively and appropriately at all levels of the organisation and demonstrate the ability to explain complex process and policy clearly and in different ways to achieve understanding.
- It is expected that the post holder will provide both group and one-on-one training relevant to the ROC department.
- They will provide mentoring and support to all ROC Schedulers, working with the ROC Supervisors to monitor their progress and plan on-going training and support. They will assist the ROC Supervisor in planning training programs and will support the ROC Schedulers in producing evidence of their learning and competencies.
- The ROC Lead Schedulers will be the senior scheduling staff member on duty at times when a ROC Manager or Supervisor are unavailable. As such they will be expected to act as a point of contact and support for junior members of the team offering guidance, suitable non-routine problem solving and to able to provide adequate and appropriate answers to non-routine queries.

Required Skills and Experience:

- 4 GCSE's (or equivalent), Mathematics and English mandatory, Grade C or above
- Advanced keyboard skills
- Evidence of competency in IT or Data entry - such as NVQ in Business Admin, CLAIT, C&G ECDL or equivalent experience
- Office and Team working experience
- Experience with Microsoft IT package
- Experience of mentoring and training
- Excellent Mentoring and coaching skills
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with ability to communicate appropriately and with tact and compassion, able to negotiate and deliver contentious information or decisions
- Considerable ability to concentrate continuously for long periods of time while maintaining speed and accuracy and resolving complex queries
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to self-motivate, work autonomously and remain focused and accurate despite frequent interruption requiring changes in activity or task
- Excellent team working skills
- Excellent accuracy and data input
- Aptitude for puzzles and problem solving
- Excellent relationship building, able to build and maintain professional and appropriate working relationships

Working Hours and Rate of Pay:

- 37.5 hours per week
- £23,949 per annum
