Journalist

The Blackmore Vale Ltd is looking for a proficient journalist to cover our Wiltshire and East Dorset area covered by our magazines The Salisbury & Avon Gazette and The Blackmore Vale.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct research and gather information to write news stories
- Interview sources and gather quotes for articles
- Write and edit news articles, features, and opinion pieces
- Fact-check information and ensure accuracy of content
- Stay up-to-date with current events and news trends
- Pitch story ideas and collaborate with editors on article topics
- Use social media platforms to promote articles and engage with readers
- Attend press conferences, events, and other relevant gatherings to gather news
- Adhere to ethical standards and guidelines of journalism

**Skills**:

- Strong writing and communication skills
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to translate complex information into clear and concise language
- Knowledge of journalistic principles and practices
- Familiarity with social media management for promoting articles
- Bilingual skills (if applicable) for conducting interviews or translating content
