**Commercial Academy**

To develop a Centre of Excellence learning and development strategy for Commercial, to ensure our colleagues can develop their career to their maximum potential, whilst supporting our growth requirements.

Be the commercial champion for early career initiatives including traineeship programmes, develop training material and build external partnerships, whilst ensuring new colleagues are supported during their probation period and beyond.

**Summary of the role**
- Introduce a learning and development strategy for Commercial, which can be communicated to all levels, and which evolves as the business grows.
- Be involved in commercial talent review process and play an active part in supporting colleagues in their development plans including promoting the traineeship, apprenticeships, internal training programmes and development fund opportunities.
- To ensure all teams across Commercial have all company process, skills, product and systems knowledge required for their role.
- Develop and deliver an outstanding new starter induction process to ensure all colleagues get a great welcome and feel connected to our shared values, culture and ways of working.
- Introduce a digitised and ‘function relevant’ Traineeship Programme for Assistant to Junior level and Junior to Buyer/Merchandiser/Designer roles.
- Adapt any learning material as systems or processes evolve, and ensure the training is consistently completed and learning validated across each function.
- Deliver training using a blend of online resources and face to face workshops.
- Communicate effectively with key stakeholders to ensure needs of individuals are met.
- Highlight specific development needs and / or performance issues to Line Managers.
- Develop a role-based skills matrix, with a Training Needs Analysis for every role.
- Listening to and respond to colleagues learning needs.
- Support the central Learning & Development function to continuously improve career development and progression.
- Celebrate learning achievements. **About You**:

- Able to liaise and engage effectively with extended Commercial Leadership team, and with colleagues at all levels.
- Able to lead on external training suppliers and providers, building partnerships for the provision of learning.
- Knowledge of Commercial to drive a best practice culture.
- Able to promote and communicate the L&D strategy and commercial opportunities within Dunelm.
- Able to understand the commercial functions and ways of working to support career learning and development.
- Able to lead on the implementation of Commercial specific learning content on Thrive
- Strong communicator with a passion for people and career development.
- Identify process improvements and work to drive change.
