Dietitian

The Nutrition & Dietetic Department is a Fife wide service providing Dietetic care to one Acute hospital, Primary Care hospitals and the community. Our friendly department is currently arranged into clinical groups for; Acute, Diabetes & Weight Management, Mental Health, Nutritional Support, Older People and Infant Nutrition & Paediatrics.

There are also specialists Dietitians working in the Health Promotion/Dietetics Food & Health team and working with the Prescribing teams.

The Dietetic department takes both undergraduate and graduate Dietetic students for B & C programmes each year; involving staff in the delivery and organisation of the programmes. The department runs regular department training sessions and supports staff in their continuing professional development. The department has good clerical support, IT, internet and library facilities.

Registered with HCPC, you will have the skills, competencies and experience appropriate for the post.

Please note that this is a rotational post between the clinical teams within the service to allow experiences in a range of dietetic clinical areas and competencies.

Job Purpose:
To join the Diabetes & Weight Management team providing a clinical Dietetic service, mostly to out-patient clinics and groups for people with diabetes, within the hospitals and community in Fife. We work closely with other members of the specialist multi-disciplinary team. You will be required to be flexible and provide cover across NHS Fife if required.

Working Areas/Caseload:
Caseload will be varied across a range of clinical diabetes areas; Type 2 and gestational diabetes along with some other clinical conditions. Types of patients will vary depending on the current demands of the service.
