Civil Engineer with rail experience up to £45,000
**Your new company**As a Civil Engineer within our clients Rail division you will provide technical support into assigned projects under professional supervision for the successful delivery of a wide array projects.
You will work in collaboration with other design disciplines in Common Data Environments and acquire the knowledge and practical skills through on-the-job learning.
**Your new role**
- Preparation of technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the Capita's quality management system.
- Resolving technical civil engineering issues.
- Help to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications.
- Scope and supervise surveys.
- Opportunity to work under mentorship to develop on Rail projects.
- Becoming familiar and compliant with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote Capita's SHEW culture within your team.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Working towards Chartership or Incorporated professional status with the ICE or IStructE.
- Working knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidelines including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, British and European Standards, Eurocodes and Codes of Practice.
- A minimum of 1-3 years post qualification relevant design experience
- Experience of working in the UK rail industry with good working knowledge of Network Rail Grip process / standards and approval processes.
- Ability to respond to Project Manager and Client requests and meet challenging deadlines.
- Experience working in some of the below areas:

- Re-signalling and electrification projects.
- Level crossing renewal projects.
- Railway Depot and Station design - AfA, platforms, station buildings and canopy design.
- General Rail lineside civils works i.e., Ancillary structures, UTX/URX, cable containment.
- Structural design in concrete and steel structures i.e., railway structures such as signal gantry, OLE supports.
- Bridge design, refurbishment and strengthening schemes.
- Structural inspection & assessments.
- Temporary work designs.
- Completing design forms (F001-003).
- Cat 3 checking of third-party designs.
- Experience of delivering GRIP 1-5 stage projects.
- ProjectWise experience in project delivery.
