Gi Group are looking for an Assembly Technician - End of Line Re-Worker for our client based in Woking.
The role will work as part of a small, multi functional team, reporting to a Production Group Leader. The role encourages involvement in improving performance for the team, in quality and cost control, productivity and areas of safety. The role requires a flexibleapproach to working hours, possibility including shifts and weekend work.
About the role;
Paying £14.50 per hour on a temporary to permanent position.
Working on shifts that alternate weekly; 05:30pm to 14:45pm and 15:00pm to 00:15pm.
- Understand and follow detailed work instructions relating to the construction, painting or assembling of vehicles.
- Ensure that all station operations on each vehicle are completed to the required quality standard.
- Ensure that all operations are completed to the required timescale.
- Work as part of a team on the definition and solution of problems that may be affecting the quality, cost or productivity of the vehicles being produced.
- Attend the workplace on a regular and timely basis, informing the group leader of any lateness or unplanned absence in a timely manner.
- Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations.
- Maintain a neat and orderly appearance within the workplace, using the uniform/ clothing provided.
- Maintain a safe working environment for yourself and other team members, participating in safety activities as requested.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities as requested.
Personal Attributes and Skills Required;
- No formal qualifications are necessary; however a foundation in engineering and/or experience within automotive or manufacturing would be a distinct advantage.
- For some positions, specific skills may be required e.g. Composite lay-up & reparation, diagnostics, mechanical vehicle repair, bare metal repair, etc.
- Prior experience of working as part of a team is desirable.
- Prior experience of working to timescales would be advantageous.
- Quality focused with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to follow processes set in place.
- Needs to have commitment and drive to succeed.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively within the organisation.
- Perform in an environment of continuous improvement.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
