We have an exciting opportunity to join our Liaison and Diversion Team as a Peer Support Apprentice, based in Durham and Darlington.
- Our aim is to improve the lives of people with vulnerabilities as they go through the custody and court process. We do this by providing support and guidance to engage with relevant services.
- Humankind recognises and values the support lived experience can offer individuals and as such it is a requirement of the role that apprentices have personal lived experience of mental health issues or is/has been the carer of someone with mental health issues who you have supported to access mental health services
- _ _Community service and Volunteering will be taken into account.
- As the role requires you to engage with study you must be willing to undertake a Level 2 apprenticeship in Adult Care with a local college This will include achieving a Level 2 in functional skills (Maths & English) as part of your apprenticeship. A basic understanding of IT would be useful too as you will be using a laptop to help you carry out your job.-
**This role will not necessarily impact any benefits you may be in receipt of and could provide a top up. A better off calculation can be carried out around your own individual circumstances.**
