Senior Buyer

**Senior Buyer - Hope (Peak District) - Circa £50,000**Chase & Holland are excited to be working with an established and growing manufacturing business in Hope (Peak District) who are looking to expand their procurement team with a strategic Senior Buyer.
As Senior Buyer you will work closely with the Purchasing Manager focusing on strategic procurement strategy for the business. This role is key to ensure continuity and efficiency of production and supply and you will have full autonomy in the role so you canreally put your own stamp on it.

**Senior Buyer Responsibilities**:

- Overhaul of the current supplier base, seeking new suppliers, re-negotiating current agreements, building new relationships to guarantee capacity of supply for the future
- A large make v buy project to allow them to exploit economies of scale and to partner with specialist suppliers throughout the UK
- Contract negotiation
- Conduct supplier audits and implement supplier improvement measures
- Negotiate and implement framework agreements.
- Purchasing project support.
- Running tenders for high spend categories
- Implement cost saving initiatives
- Consignment Stock Management
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to understand future requirements.

**Hours**: 37.50 Hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8.00 - 4.45 pm, Friday 8.00 -12.30 pm (Early finish on a **Friday).**
**Required Skills & Experience**:

- CIPS Level 6 or similar qualification in Purchasing (Desirable)
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Extensive demonstrable experience of Supplier selection/Management and audit
- Previous experience with MRP/ ERP systems
- Proficient in the use of MS Office - Excel & Word
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
