Optimax, the UK’s longest established eye surgery specialists & market leader in Refractive Eye Surgery, is recruiting for an enthusiastic full-time Accounts Clerk to join the Accounts team in Birmingham.

Reporting to, and working closely with, the Accounts Controller, this role is key to the business and you will be part of a small team that delivers a lot.

**Main Duties of Accounts Clerk**
- Responsible for the whole of the purchase ledger
- Convert and post delivered orders to invoices, checking coding
- Code and post invoices
- Prepare and send same day and bacs payments
- Allocate all payments against invoices
- Deal with Supplier payment queries promptly
- Reconcile Supplier statements for all accounts
- Request missing statements from Suppliers
- Request copy invoices where required
- Prepare all monthly accruals
- Set up new suppliers on Exchequer
- Chase clinics/HO to deliver received purchase orders
- Monthly analysis - Motor and Travel, Marketing, Other as requested by FD or Accounts Supervisor
- Assist the rest of the team as required
- Answer telephone
- Take Card Payments
- Other tasks as requested by Accounts Controller, FD or other Senior Managers

**Essential skills/experience required of Accounts Clerk**:

- Minimum 3 Years Accounts Experience
- Confident and able to carry out duties
- IT Literate
- Good communication skills
- Good Reconciliation skills

You will be inducted into the Company through our detailed and comprehensive training program. Therefore, whilst experience in a similar industry would be advantageous, it is not essential.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: Up to £26,000.00 per year
