Looking for a gardener with a general knowledge of plants and their biology to join our team as a Nursery Worker.

Responsibilities and requirements:

- Helping to serve our customers on the till and over the phone during opening hours, answering questions about plants and taking orders/changing orders over the phone
- Maintaining the plants/stock area
- Irrigate plants using appropriate watering techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery premises
- Perform heavy lifting tasks to move plants, soil, and other materials around the nursery
- Assist with maintenance tasks
- Work in adverse weather conditions if required
- Weeding pavement and between block paving areas
- Utilise hand tools for planting, pruning, and maintaining plants

Desired skills (or training will be provided if required):

- Ability to operate forklift
- Knowledge of IPM (Integrated Pest Management)

Knowledge/abilities:

- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects repeatedly throughout the day
- Proficiency in using various hand tools for gardening tasks
- Knowledge of irrigation methods and techniques
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plant care
- Strong ability to maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Relevant horticultural qualification/knowledge is a plus
