Private Markets Thought Leadership Writer

The Role:
This role sits within our Investment Marketing team. The objective of the Thought Leadership Writer will be to deliver macro and thematic thought leadership content, from short form to more detailed white papers that can position M&G Investments as a thought leader in Private Markets. A thought leadership article is one that questions, inspires, provokes, advocates, or influences and positions the writer as an opinion leader in their field or industry.
Thought Leadership Writers have strong journalistic ‘storytelling’ writing capability and can write compelling content across a range of mediums. They are adept at writing in a ‘digital first’ way, with an understanding of how best to achieve engagement in digital formats. They are comfortable working closely with key stakeholders among our investment and distribution teams to generate ideas and briefs, and to manage competing deadlines.
Key Responsibilities for this role:
- Deliver thought leadership content, from short form to more detailed white papers that can position M&G Investments as a thought leader in Private Markets. Support the Global Managing Editor to deliver the content strategy, participate in idea generation for themes, content, and publications.
- Writing in flagship publications that sit across asset classes, as well as working with investment teams on more focused pieces to a particular strategy
- Regularly generate ideas for new pieces of content, based on experience and strong relationships with those in the investment and distribution teams with ability to persuade others of their ideas.
- Comfortable challenging briefs where appropriate, based on their strong understanding of our commercial priorities and confidence in seeing through complex pieces from inception to delivery.
- Manage key stakeholder relationships with investment desk, CIO teams and channel heads
- Work collaboratively across wholesale & institutional marketing channels, PR, events
- Keep abreast of competitors, trends in the industry, regulatory changes etc.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Excellent project management and people skills
- Writing skills are essential as is the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong technical knowledge of Private Debt Markets essential, ideally acquired by working on an investment desk or advisory capacity
- Comfortable working closely with SMEs to produce institutional white papers and reports
