Position: Waste Operative

Location: Mold, Flintshire

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and reliable Waste Operative to join our team in Mold, Flintshire. As a Waste Operative, you will be responsible for carrying out various tasks related to waste management and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of waste disposal facilities.

**Responsibilities**:
Waste Collection: Collect waste materials from designated areas, including residential and commercial premises, using appropriate collection equipment and vehicles.

Sorting and Segregation: Sort and segregate different types of waste materials such as recyclables, organic waste, and general waste according to established guidelines and regulations.

Recycling Operations: Operate machinery and equipment to process recyclable materials, such as plastic, glass, paper, and metal, into reusable products.

Waste Disposal: Assist in the safe disposal of non-recyclable waste materials, following proper waste management procedures and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Health and Safety: Adhere to health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating procedures.

Equipment Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance tasks on waste collection vehicles, machinery, and equipment to ensure their optimal performance.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of waste collection and disposal activities, including weight measurements, volumes, and documentation of any incidents or issues encountered.

Customer Service: Interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner, addressing any inquiries or concerns related to waste management services.

**Requirements**:
Experience: Previous experience in waste management, recycling, or a similar field is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.

Physical Fitness: Ability to carry out physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy waste containers or equipment.

Driving License: A valid driver's license is required, as the role involves operating waste collection vehicles.

Health and Safety Awareness: Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to adhere to safety protocols is essential.

Teamwork: Strong teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work towards common goals.

Flexibility: Willingness to work in various weather conditions and adapt to changing work schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends when required.

Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions accurately, maintain records, and ensure waste materials are correctly sorted and processed.

Environmental Awareness: Understanding of waste management practices, recycling principles, and a commitment to environmental sustainability.
