**Volunteer Co-ordinator - The Space - Field Lane Centre**:

- Job description

**Role**

To recruit, retain and cherish our volunteer base. This includes but is not limited to:

- Developing an induction plan for new volunteers
- Developing a training plan for all volunteers including statutory training such as first aid, food hygiene, fire training as well as enhanced training for skills
- Hold regular 1:1 with existing volunteers.
- Develop a program of social events/team building for volunteers.
- Recruiting new volunteers including the use of social media, attending local networking events
- Logging volunteer hours on a regular basis
- Sourcing branded items for volunteers (badges, aprons, hoodies)
- Exploring the possibility of internal/external accreditation e.g. book keeping, kitchen skills
- Exploring the possibility of an apprenticeship scheme
- Link with local high schools/ Duke of Edinburgh schemes to offer volunteering opportunities for young people.
- Liaising with VSI Alliance
- Working with Treasurer to source funding to support this as a paid role in future years
- Regular review of the volunteering framework policy and updating as needed
- Proactive in engaging with new and existing community members to build on our volunteer base and showcase the value & impact volunteering has.

**Person Specification**

**Essential**
- Self starter, the individual will be required to work largely without supervision using their initiative
- Collaborative
- the role will work closely with the centre manager and the trustees
- Organised and committed
- Able to develop networks and relationships with partner organisations and services.
- Confident & Outgoing to engage and encourage new volunteers

**Desirable**

Lives on the Field Lane Estate or within 2 miles

IT skills such as Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook & Social Media
