**PR Apprentice**

We are looking for a PR Apprentice to join our busy communications agency. It is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to get a good grounding in PR and learn about the communications industry.

You will learn key PR skills including how to develop and manage PR campaigns, how to manage reputation, how to communicate with the media and how to target content appropriately for maximum impact.

The role will involve working closely with our account managers, supporting them in providing our core services of PR, social media and content marketing. You will help to draft content for a diverse range of clients across business-to-business and consumer sectors, while building lasting relationships with the media and key influencers. It would suit a self-starter with strong communication skills who loves the media, understands cultural trends, and can demonstrate a creative flair.

This role will best suit somebody who wants to fast-track their career in communications and hit the ground running, be challenged and learn from a small, senior and specialist team. We’re looking for an apprentice who wants to get stuck in from day one and really make a difference to their team. It’s a deadline-driven environment where you’ll learn quickly and be supported every step of the way.

**PR activities**

As a PR Apprentice you will be required to undertake (but not be restricted to) the following activities as part of your role.
- Writing: Writing for business communications, communicating effectively with PR clients, writing for the media (including articles, news releases, blogs, and case studies). Assist in compiling and developing documents, including press releases, presentations, reports, briefs, letters.
- Social media: Understanding when and which social media channel is appropriate and how it can be incorporated into a PR campaign. Using social media in a strategic and effective way for companies and brands.
- Media liaison: Understanding how the media operates, dealing with day-to-day enquiries from the media, pitching stories and/or products to the media, building relationships with the media (i.e. journalists), creating media lists, monitoring and compiling all media coverage, and sending/receiving press selection products. Maintain functional and up-to
- date media and influencer distribution databases. Monitor and update features lists.

Monitor the news agenda and update the team on key developments and updates relevant to clients and their industries (this may include content curation for social programmes).

Monitoring of editorial calendars, influencer enquiry systems and social media for potential client opportunities.
- Deliver PR campaigns: Supporting the team in creating new campaigns.
- Evaluate PR campaigns: Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness and impact of PR campaigns, help create monthly reports on account activities and results delivered
- Research & data analysis: Conducting and reporting research for the team and/or clients.

**Workload management**
- **Meetings**:Arranging internal and external meetings. Attending client meetings as requested by account team. Assist colleagues with meeting co-ordination, providing agendas and taking and communicating actions/activity summaries
- **Career development**: Taking responsibility for personal learning and professional development.

- **Professional relationships**:Developing professional relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and teams. Ensuring supervisors and coaches are aware of work-in-progress and any issues.

**Apprenticeship training overview**
- You will develop a wide understanding of Public Relations and the impact it has on businesses
- As a Public Relations and Communications Apprentice, you will follow a Level 4 Public

Relations Assistant apprenticeship standard, which is a nationally recognised qualification route with a Diploma.
- This will involve “on the job” training, virtual visits from an Apprenticeship Coach, an internal line manager to provide ongoing guidance, online learning and creating a portfolio of evidence
- Functional Skills in maths and English if required
- You will be working towards an End-Point Assessment (EPA) which will determine if you have the knowledge, skills, and behaviours listed in the PR & Communications Assistant
