Indirect Buyer

Our client Envision are an established, rapidly expanding automotive giant currently looking to recruit an experienced Indirect Buyer to join their team.

**Overall Purpose**:

- We are an ambitious organisation and are looking for an equally ambitious and innovative Indirect Buyer to join the UK Purchasing function to support business development in an industry and organisation with high growth potential.

**Key Duties**:

- Build and maintain strong connections with Global Purchasing to identify strategies and to develop suppliers both globally and locally.
- Gather Market Intelligence, identify major categories, analyse current spend & develop an optimal Indirect Strategy Plan.
- Deliver the strategy through supplier relationships & multiple projects (CAPEX, Service, Energy, Maintenance, T&L contracts).
- Focus on & deliver strategic proactive tenders for the identified Indirect approved suppliers & purchase spend.
- Lead negotiations, supplier selection & align functional requirements i.e. cost challenges -15%, warranty, payment terms etc.
- Increase control & management of Service Contracts - e.g. best practice and avoid termination penalties; YOY cost reductions.
- Work with Purchasing Manager & internal functions to establish Supplier service level performance targets, objectives and deliver against targets KPIs.
- Ensure day to day issues are managed with relevant plant personnel resulting in improved quality/logístical performance.
- Responsible for management of Purchasing Officer.
- Provide support to Purchasing Officer for continuous improvements in supplier quality & OTIF for indirect parts.
- When required manage release of Indirect Purchase Orders from SAP system.
- Support and implement improvement to Indirect RFQ process.
- Introduce consignment Vendor Managed Inventory, for repeat Indirect spend off the shelf items.

**Key Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required**:

- You will ideally be educated to degree level and currently be working within an indirect Purchasing role within a manufacturing environment, and will have built up experience of ideally at least 5 years of supplier engagement, negotiation, and cost reduction.
- Strong leader to influence, be able to work to tight deadlines, have a good sense of priority and to have previous negotiation experience.
- Excellent communication skills are crucial to this role, as is the ability to build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- You should possess strong industrial awareness by investigating new supply markets to assess existing and new supplier capabilities to further strength cost reductions and supply rationalisation.
- You must hold a full driving licence.
- Some degree of travel may be required(expenses covered).
- CIPS or MCIPS is preferred for this role.
