Express Operations Controller

Simpex Express has an exciting opportunity to join their expanding team of professionals in Birmingham. The full time Express Operations Controller is responsible for the day to day running within the Express team.
Your main tasks include, but will not be limited to:
- Providing quotations, transport solutions and guidance to resolve queries quickly and efficiently.
- Input bookings.
- Tracking shipments, obtaining regular updates from drivers/ hauliers and keeping the customer informed.
- Arranging customs clearance in the UK and EU.
- Invoicing.
- Chasing Pod’s.
- Working well within a team.
- Ensure you comply and follow our company values.
- Perform all other duties assigned or delegated by the Operations Manager.
- Have at least 5 years’ experience of working within the transport, logistics, freight forwarding sector with some customs knowledge of transporting goods to and from EU will be essential for this role.
- Be organised, resilient, self-motivated with a driven approach of succeeding and the ability to work within a focused team.
- Commercially minded with a strong sense of customer service and a confident problem solver and communicator.
- Basic IT knowledge, preferably including MS Word, and Outlook.
- English language essential, must reside in the United Kingdom and either be a British citizen or have an unrestricted work Visa for the UK/settled status for EU citizens.
Pay and perks:
- £30-35k basic, depending on experience.
- The company has a good track record of recognising both personal and company performance through discretionary bonuses and social events.

- Birmingham, B26.
- 22 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
- Working hours - Monday to Friday, 08:45 - 17:30 with 1 hour lunch break.
