**Who we are**

At Frew & Co, we make hand-made ice cream in front of customers on an ice plate. We put on fresh ingredients, chop, roll and make them look beautiful A few other companies out there do similar, but no one is nearly as **luxurious** or professional as us. For a fee, we can include an amazing looking Topping Station and even some deckchairs and parasols to create a fun and entertaining experience for guests.

We attend private booked events all over the UK, mainly in SE England and London, for weddings, birthdays, bar mitzvahs, corporate events and any reason to have some tasty entertaining fun We have done events as far away as Newcastle, North Wales and NW England.

**Please note**:

- This is not a full time, or part time job.
- This is for event staff for selected dates (booked events) through the year (usually Summer weekends, maybe about 20 events per year).
- You will be paid per event, which means this is not enough to sustain a normal person. You will be expected to have work elsewhere. This is for extra income.
- You will be expected to work on popular social dates, including mostly weekends and bank holidays.
- You must be strong, confident and able to move heavy equipment.
- You must be outgoing, personable and pro-active.
- If you haven't worked in events, hospitality or any other highly active/energetic roles before, think carefully before applying.

Are you a quick learner, good with your hands, handy in the kitchen and confident in making artistic ice cream creations?

We require some extra ice cream rollers for the events we get booked for, such as weddings and corporate events. Bookings are coming in thick and fast.

The bookings happen at different times throughout the year, with most of them happening during the Summer wedding season, or sometimes during the week for corporate events. Its best that you have another job such as shift work, so you can book a day off to come and earn some extra money and have fun making ice cream This isn't a job which you can rely on for a regular income, due to the ad-hoc nature of bookings. **This is a job for extra money in your pocket, doing something fun, at random one-off events through the year.**

As we get booked for these private events, no one work location will be the same. We'll try and give you a lift to wherever they are. Most are around London, but some a further away when we'll drive you Flexibility is essential

**You must be based in London**

Our amazing ice cream makers must be:

- Happy and cheerful
- Have artistic flair, confident in making your creations
- Confidence really is key, if you get nervous or unsure in front of strangers easily, this isn't for you
- Punctual, reliable and great communicator
- Have great stamina and can be energetic all the way through
- Have experience in bars, pubs, kitchens or other food and drink customer facing roles
- Very quick learners
- Strong, you will need to help out with getting items in and out of the van
- Excited about visiting events such as Christmas parties and weddings all over London, and the UK
- Hygienic and excellent personal presentation
- Self starter - if you see a task which needs to be done, you do it yourself without waiting to be asked
- We genuinely have a desire to help you progress in areas you can improve on, which means being able to accept advice

We **are not **looking for people who are:

- Lazy or get tired easily
- Get into a sulk or mood easily
- Aren't confident - this is important
- Have little to no experience of food or drink handling
- Scruffy appearance and don't tidy up after themselves
- You think its okay to turn up late, or cancel at the last minute
- Stand around doing nothing, just looking at your phone or talking, avoiding work
- Under 20 or don't have fluent English

**Big advantage if**:

- You have driven vans before.
- You have a food safety certificate or training
- You're a wiz in the kitchen
- You've done events like this
- You enjoy working at social events with lots of people on popular dates throughout the year, mostly weekends and bank holidays etc.
- You have another job elsewhere for your main income, where you can book a day off easily to come and do this one

Most events are evening, although we do get some afternoon services which means an early morning. A typical day will be really easy going and fun:

- Get picked up and driven to location. Sometimes you may need to make your own way depending on where it is. This will be discussed long before the event.
- Unpack and set up ice cream stand and decoration before event begins (around 1 hour)
- Wait until its serving time (we sometimes go to the local pub, grab some food or do other things whilst we wait)
- Make ice cream for the guests, usually for about 3 hours
