**The role**:
We’re looking for two innovative, creative and detail focused Senior Marketing Officers to join our Marketing Team, one role based in the central marketing team and the other with the Faculty of Engineering, You’ll be part of a wider team of 60 marketing professionals who work closely with recruitment and admissions, as well as digital, media and communications teams to support the vision and strategy of the University of Bristol.

In Engineering you'll play a vital role in delivering marketing and communications initiatives, working alongside a small, friendly team of professionals including a Marketing and Communications Manager and two digital experts.

The Faculty of Engineering is going through strategic changes, and this role will support sharing our strengths with key audiences. With a recent brand positioning exercise and strong industry partnerships, it offers exciting opportunities for recruitment marketing, research marketing and content development. This is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, starting immediately until July 2024.

In the Central Team as Senior Marketing Officer, you will assist the Marketing Manager to develop, manage and implement innovative and inspiring annual marketing plans to support UK student recruitment targets, showcasing the student experience and research, and promoting and enhancing the reputation of the University.

Join us in a versatile marketing role, spanning the full marketing mix. You will develop and monitor digital campaigns, create printed materials, contribute to visual identities, and deliver effective campaigns across multiple channels. This open-ended, permanent position.

**What will you be doing?**:

- Engineering: Building on recent brand work within the faculty, developing narrative, key messages, and content for local marketing and communication channels, integrating with centrally led marketing efforts.
- Central: Working closely with the UK recruitment teams to support ambitious student recruitment targets. Developing a particular focus on reaching new audiences with the aim of diversifying the student body.
- Both: Briefing, developing, monitoring, and evaluating high profile paid digital campaigns in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external agencies.
- Both: Providing guidance on marketing and brand to academics, faculty, and recruitment colleagues, sharing best practices on communications and fostering relationships for content creation opportunities.
- Both: Using copywriting and editing skills to develop engaging content for a range of audiences.
- Both: Obtaining and interrogating data from various sources to inform project planning and channel selection, and providing evaluations and reports.

You have the following:

- Experience across the full marketing mix, ideally in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Motivation to work within a smaller team supported by a larger marketing and communications function.
- Excellent understanding of campaign planning, from brief to delivery and reporting.
- Engineering role: Awareness of how Engineering activities can contribute to wider marketing and communications efforts, including earned media. Curiosity about Science and Engineering, with the ability to gain a lay understanding of research for promoting research impact and stories.
- Passion for developing standout content and ability to engage stakeholders for support in media, digital content design, events, and creative teams.
- Strong organisational skills, delivering multiple projects on time and within budget.
- Proficient in sourcing and utilising insights and data to innovate, target, and enhance marketing activity, with a focus on ROI.
- Knowledge of marketing within higher education is desirable but not essential.

**Additional information**:
**Contract type: x1 Open Ended & x1 Fixed Term Contract (until July 2024)**

**Work pattern**: Monday - Friday, 35 hours per week.**
