365 People are recruiting for our client who is looking for a class 2 loading shovel driver to rotate between their 4 sites.

ADR licence desirable

**Service/Section**:
Environment & Waste Management, Waste Management Delivery, Contracts and Haulage Operations

**Base/Location**:
Bardon, Loughborough, Mountsorrel, Croft or another appropriate base within these localities.

**Job Purpose**

Transport waste materials from Recycling and Household Waste Sites (RHWS) to disposal locations, using hook loader heavy goods vehicles (HGVs)

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
- To ensure that the services are delivered for the benefit of the people of Leicestershire
- To be responsible for maintaining effective partnerships and working relationships with statutory, voluntary, private agencies and communities to promote and meet the Department’s services and objectives
- To complete all uplifts and other jobs on any given day, and to do so in the most efficient and effective manner
- Comply with all systems, procedures or directions given by the Supervisor/Senior Officers or Team manager and the Fleet Manager.
- Complete reasonable requests from Supervisor/Senior Officers or Team manager, including requests to induct new drivers, show them routes, how to use equipment such as the hook lift and help to achieve the standards required.
- Ensure due care for assets (including vehicles, plant, compactors, bins and site infrastructure) when carrying out the service, minimising any incidents, accidents, damage or costs
- Conduct daily vehicle checks in line with policy and legislation, and sign the driver handbook
- Report all defects at the end of the day if considered serviceable, liaising with the supervisor if unsure. Major defects to be reported immediately
- Complete daily sheets and submit daily, ensuring that all tickets are stapled to the worksheet concerned
- Ensure tachographs are signed for and returned monthly (or driver books)
- Clean up any spillages caused by your actions in the course of carrying out the service
- Ensure vehicles have enough fuel for the next working day and operate the fuelling system with due care and attention
- Vehicles to be kept clean (inside and out) and presentable at all times
- Wear uniform at all times and when needed wear personal protective equipment (PPE) to carry out duties in a safe manner in line with health and safety
- Be courteous to customers at all times
- Highlight any service problems you may be having to your supervisor
- Responsible for protecting and managing information securely, and reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches, in line with Council policies.

**Special Factors**
- The nature of the work will involve the jobholder carrying out work outside of normal working hours, including bank holidays, weekends and out of hours working
- The nature of the work may involve the jobholder to operate annualised hours as demanded by the service.
- Although the primary base for the post will be either Loughborough, Mountsorrel, Croft Depot or another appropriate base within these localities, the nature of the work will also involve the jobholder carrying out work at different locations across the County.

- The jobholder may be required to attend, from time to time, training courses, conferences, seminars or other meetings as required by his/her own training needs and the needs of the service
- Expenses will be paid in accordance with the Local Conditions of Service
