As a Pastry Chef and Indian Sweet Maker of I-Cakes, Ilford for one of East London's most diligent party order undertaking, you will have a vital role in contributing to the Bakers and Wedding planners to portfolio of Cakes and Milk-sweet development, helping with the day to day kitchen operations and working with incredible produce to create high quality sweets and savouries.

A very challenging and skilled role requiring specialty skilled chefs to build a strong kitchen team with 5 or more years of experience with necessary excellent skills and creativity to cook the ethnic traditional Sweets and Bake Cakes for an established Cake-house catering to highly bespoke Party and Wedding Orders aimed at South Indian/North Indian/Pakistani Marriages orders..

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- London: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Baking: 1 year (preferred)
- Jangiri and Jalebi Sweets (3 years essential)
- Milk Sweets, Halwa and Cashew Sheets and Marriage Sweets (2 Years Essential)

Additional Essential Requirement
- consider and prepare meals carefully by using his own skills in making variations or alterations to ‘nut-free’, wheat free, vegan and allergic conditions
- ensure efficiency in the kitchen, and the high standards and reputation of the business is maintained
- ensure up to date with relevant training and courses regarding hygiene and food safety management
- manage and control the food portion, stock that is used for production, including ensuring all stock is stored appropriately
- plan and produce food according to planned menus in agreed timings with minimum wastage
- ensure and monitor portion control in line with food standards and specifications including preserving and packaging etc
- Track, record and replenish inventory as needed
- Keep up to date with kitchen cleanliness and a high health and hygiene standard
- Maintain temperature control

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED**
- 2+ Years of Pastry chef experience will experience of preparing Indian Sweets (Both Milk-sweets and Marriage sweets)
- 3+ years’ relevant experience with excellent skills of creativity, innovation and passion for creating authentic traditional Sweets without losing its aroma and originality
- Ability to demonstrate organisation and leadership skills
- Knowledge of best practices for training kitchen staff and implementing kitchen procedures
- Experience to manage workload on own with time
