**About the role.**

We are seeking a keen, motivated and committed individual to be responsible for managing the delivery of our “Engaging Gateshead with Net Zero” project, a role funded for 2 years, up to 30th June 2025.

The Energy Services Teams are responsible for energy and decarbonisation in Gateshead, building and operating heat networks, managing the Council's energy and carbon emissions, and delivering energy carbon reduction in the wider community. You will join the team at an exciting time as we look to expand heat networks across the borough, install renewable energy sources and develop new home energy efficiency schemes.

You will manage and be responsible for the “Engaging Gateshead with Net Zero” project, which aims to overcome non-technical barriers to help grow heat networks in Gateshead. These responsibilities include working with both internal and external partners including Northumbria University to deliver measurable behaviour change around sources of zero carbon heat, establish and manage the project’s procedures including health and safety compliance, engage and manage stakeholders, and produce reports and records as determined by the funding requirements.

The post is a fixed term position, 37hrs per week, at K-grade (£40,478 - 43,516), and will be based in Gateshead Civic Centre with the opportunity for hybrid working.
