**Creative Projects Workshop Assistant**

Thank you for your interest in Trestle and this role. Trestle is a mask and physical theatre company with a 40-year history. Our mission is to inspire creativity for all through participation and dialogue. We do this by approaching opportunities with an open mind and playful attitude using masks and mask technique We open up opportunities for everyone to engage with the arts, unleash their creativity, and increase confidence and general wellbeing through participation.

We are excited to be offering this part-time role in our Creative Projects team to help us deliver both our School of Drama and our Community Groups at Trestle Arts base here in St Albans. Trestle Arts Base is the home of Trestle Theatre Company and is run as a community arts venue providing space for arts groups. These include Trestle School of Drama, dance classes, and a café gallery exhibiting the work of local artists.

**Job Role**:Creative Projects Workshop Assistant

**Remuneration**: National Living Wage starting on the 9th September 2023, 13.5 hours a week term-time only plus holiday pay on a pro-rata basis.

**Purpose of Post**:To support Trestle’s Community Groups and School of Drama at the following times.

Monday 12.45 pm-2.45 pm _Dance Now_
Tuesday 12.45 pm-3.15 pm and 5-7.30 pm _Act Up And School of Drama Advance_
Saturday 8.45 am-3.15 pm _School of Drama Begin - Evolve classes_

**Responsible to**: Creative Projects Manager

**Duties**
- To support the smooth running of Dance Now Act Up And our School of Drama.
- To support in ensuring the available workspace is an efficient and safe working environment for everyone.
- To be aware of Trestle’s Health and Safety Policy and Risk Assessments and to adhere to working within them.
- To abide by and ensure that all aspects of our Creative Projects comply with the Company’s Equal Opportunities, Safeguarding and other policies.
- Any other duties as reasonably required. Depending on the aptitude and interest of the post holder, this may include involvement with other aspects of the Company’s work such as the touring shows or Taking Part projects.

**Essential**
- A commitment to the success of the Company and its ongoing development.
- A demonstrable commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
- Understanding of Health and Safety and implementing safe working practices.
- A positive attitude with a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work using your own initiative taking personal responsibility and resolving issues independently.
- An understanding of Equal Opportunity and Cultural Diversity issues in the delivery of our services including an understanding of access and disability requirements.

**Desirable**
- A current DBS
- Experience working with young people
- Experience working with adults with disabilities

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 13.5 per week

**Salary**: £7.49-£10.42 per hour
