Greenwich, United Kingdom University of Greenwich Full time

The University of Greenwich is an ambitious and growing global community. Situated in Information and Library Services (ILS), Academic & Learning Enhancement (ALE) is a rapidly expanding team, made up of dynamic interdisciplinary staff, from professional and academic pathways, with people from diverse backgrounds. Based in a stunning heritage campus in Greenwich at the Stockwell Street Library, a state-of-the-art multi-million-pound building, our focus is to support a culture of continuous educational enhancement across the university. We support the institutional digital and student success strategies, through helping ILS to champion collaboration. ALE is a key facilitator in the institution, which serves to drive collegial passion for pedagogy and best practice.

We are seeking a University Learning Technologist (ULT) to join a growing team of Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) specialists that empower staff to seize the educational advantages of learning technologies. We want someone inspirational, who can help us steer the institution towards a pro-human digital future as a leading modern university in the HE sector. They will provide advice, guidance, CPD and support for the use of learning technologies and share TEL and VLE expertise, explore, evaluate, and recommend appropriate technologies to enhance the student learning experience and promote the use of blended learning and VLE technologies. Collaboration with faculty-based learning technologists and the Institutional Lead for TEL are key relationships. The ULT will develop high-quality asynchronous staff-development materials and shape a portfolio of responsibility for specific learning technologies deployed across our institution. Our goal is embedding technology at the core of pedagogy and practice. Further responsibilities will include designing and providing workshops and seminars and contributing to PGCertHE programmes; designing and evaluating learning resources; disseminating good practice; serving on relevant committees and supporting the development of policies, guidance and strategies relating to learning technologies to support inclusive and accessible practice.

You will be educated to a degree level in a relevant area or have equivalent qualifications or experience and have experience supporting the use of learning technologies and presenting work to educated audiences.

We are making significant strides to understand and continuously improve our employees’ experience and we are committed to implementing progressive diversity talent management.
