**About the role - Finance Assistant - Purchase Ledger**

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for all aspects of the purchase ledger, ensuring policies are adhered to and invoices are processed and paid on time. The Finance Assistant will also support the Financial Controllerand wider team where needed, including reconciliations, reporting and credit control.

**Responsibilities**:
Purchase ledger
- Responsible for processing supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Raising Purchase Orders and ensuring the purchasing policy is adhered to company wide
- Troubleshoot and resolve supplier queries
- Accurately forecasting timing of supplier payments to assist with cash flow forecasting
- Regularly monitoring the purchase ledger to ensure all aged balances are cleared

Payment runs
- Responsible for preparing and executing payment runs on a weekly basis
- Ensuring suppliers are paid on time

Team cover
- Due to the small size of the team, the Finance Assistant will be required to provide cover for other team members when needed, in areas such as bank reconciliations and credit control calls.

Ad-hoc/ project support
- Support the Financial Controller and Management Accountant with any ad-hoc tasks/ projects as required

**Requirements**:

- AAT level 3 or QBE
- 1+ years purchase ledger experience in a SME environment
- Experience with purchasing policies and PO systems
- Competent with Microsoft Suite systems and experience of operating an accounting software package, ideally NetSuite.
- Have experience with online banking in multiple currencies
- Attention to detail, takes pride in getting things right first time
- Keen problem-solver who is prepared to throw themselves into trying to solve any issue
- Methodical worker, who is able to prioritise work and juggle multiple different tasks and contact channels
- Friendly, approachable and willing to learn and accept feedback
- Enjoys working as part of a team
