TheHireWorks is looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join our Cambridge College client on a full-time permanent basis. Responsible to the Buildings Manager in their absence the postholder will be required to co-ordinate and delegate to the highlyskilled maintenance staff. This is a 'hands on’ role which will show that they successful applicant can lead from the front and will be able to help other members of the team with tasks that require assistance. As the maintenance manager you will be overseeingthe planned and preventative maintenance for all the college and its buildings.

Looking after the entire College site, you will be responsible to ensure the highest possible standards are met while also ensuring and monitoring the Health and Safety of the staff and students while work is being undertaken. With it also being a 'handson’ role you will provide the technical guidance and management whilst also being able to carry out maintenance tasks yourself.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Determine the daily priorities of the maintenance team
- Manage the online tracking systems for all jobs that come in as reported by staff and students.
- Work closely with the Buildings manager to make sure the College’ estate is maintained all year round in compliance with COSHH standards and also the ever-changing H&S guidelines.
- To direct and control the day-to-day work of the team.
- Ensure the safe working around the college when contractors are on-site by working alongside the College H&S Officer where appropriate
- Produce and implement effective risk assessments as required for any specific maintenance operations and college functions
- Attend regular meetings with the Buildings manager to talk about progress and create work programmes for any refurbishment projects.
- Keep a regular stock of all materials needed for all trades in stock by ordering when needed.
- Create a regular scheduled plan of works for areas such as the water gutters, flushing, swimming pool maintenance and others.
- Administration tasks conducted by yourself for circumstances such as annual staff appraisals and return to work interviews after long absences. Making sure staffing levels are where they need to be to conduct proper works.

**What you need**:

- A City & Guilds qualification in a Construction background and/or an M&E background
- Knowledge of all trades to help with trade works in a maintenance setting
- Knowledge of H&S and any qualifications would be advantageous
- Knowledge of COSHH
- Computer Literate (Outlook, Word, One Note etc)
- Proactive tenacity
- Management skills
- Professionalism
- Motivation to keep standards high
- Full UK Driver’s license

**Benefits Package**:

- Competitive salary D.O.E of between £37,000 and £41,000
- Full time hours (40 Hours a week) Monday to Friday
- Occasional weekend work will be required but plenty of notice will be given and that will be given as time off in TOIL or paid as overtime
