KS2 Behaviour Mentor
£80 - £95 Daily rate
We are recruiting for an experienced Behaviour Mentor to support across KS2 in an outstanding primary school, located in DE21 for the remainder of the academic year. The role would be full time and for the right person will be made permanent.
The role will involve working primarily on a 1:1 basis with students who can struggle to maintain focus in lessons. There may also be opportunities to lead intervention sessions for children below age-related expectations. You will need a strong understandingof a range of special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, challenging behaviour, and developmental delays.
**Main duties will entail**:
- Liaising with the inclusion team and the pastoral department to support students within KS2.
- Encouraging the full attendance and participation of students.
- Motivating students to maintain high standards in their academic studies.
- De-escalating challenging behaviour.
- Helping all students to feel included in the life of the school.
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Experience working with children within a school environment is desirable.
- A good understanding of Special Educational Needs.
- A flexible attitude and be able to adapt approach to meet learners' needs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
