We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join Waste Portering Team, based at South Tyneside District Hospital. The Waste Porters role is to provide collection, transportation and disposal of Healthcare & Domestic waste streams, safely and appropriately segregating in accordance with regulations and to the standards required, whilst delivering an effective and efficient service that meets contractual obligation, KPIs and in accordance with Trust policies, procedures, British Law and Legislation and with a positive and professional demeanour.

There may be times when cover is required within the general Portering team. The post holder will work from the Porters room providing support to the team by assisting with general portering duties.

We are seeking a waste porter with a full driving licence as there are times when collections may be required out in community settings, or assisting with large office/furniture moves.

Post holder must act as a positive role model to peers in order to promote a professional and well-bonded workforce adhering to and promoting the Trust Behavioural Compact and core values.

The Waste Portering Team deliver a high quality, timely, responsive, cost-effective, pro-active waste & disposal service at South Tyneside District Hospital.
