Activities Coordinator for Oldway Heights Care Home for People with Disabilities in Paignton

Oldway Heights, a reputable care home for people with disabilities in Paignton, is currently seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Activities Coordinator to design and implement a dynamic program of activities that cater to the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan and implement a diverse range of activities that cater to the individual needs and interests of residents, including arts and crafts, movie nights, gardening, and music therapy.
- Organize regular outings, day trips, and holidays, including arranging transportation and ensuring that appropriate support is available.
- Build strong relationships with residents and their families to understand their preferences and needs.
- Work closely with the care team to ensure that activities are aligned with residents' care plans.
- Encourage and engage residents in activities, providing appropriate support where necessary.
- Ensure that all activities are safe and follow appropriate health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and programs, ensuring that they are up-to-date and relevant.
- Update and manage the care home's social media platform by creating engaging content that promotes the home's activities and events.
- Create a monthly newsletter that highlights upcoming events, recaps previous activities, and includes photos and quotes from residents.

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Genuine interest in working with people with disabilities.
- Understanding of the needs and challenges of people with disabilities.
- Ability to plan and deliver creative and engaging activities that cater to individual needs and interests.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop strong relationships with residents, families, and staff.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records of activities and programs.
- Experience in managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
