Acorn Team Midwife
Here at Macclesfield Maternity Unit, we pride ourselves on being a small inclusive unit with a positive, compassionate culture. We have the NHS People Promise at the heart of our ethos, ensuring our women and families are cared for by safe and happy members of staff. We are situated in the heart of the Cheshire countryside within easy access to most motorways and the city centre of Manchester.
We have an exciting opportunity for motivated and experienced midwives to join our growing Acorn Midwifery Team.
The team provides enhanced support those women and families with additional safeguarding vulnerabilities and complex needs; from initiating early interventions to working with families through the child protection process. The aim of the role is to reduce the incidence and impact of these factors on women and their children, through advocacy and individualised support.
We are currently looking to recruit to a 37.5 substantive post and a 22.5 12 month fixed post.
We are looking for enthusiastic midwives to provide midwifery care and support to a defined caseload of women and families with identified vulnerabilities including, but not limited to, substance misuse, domestic abuse, poor mental health, homelessness, child sexual exploitation, trafficking, teenage pregnancy and learning disabilities.
You will be responsible for planning and providing care and support to women and their families throughout their pregnancy journey, helping them to make informed choices about their personalised care as well as supporting the wider maternity service with complex care guidance.
The role requires good communication skills and the ability to build good working relationships with partner agencies such as Children's Social Care, mental health services and substance and alcohol services.
You will work as a registered midwife accountable for your own midwifery practice and as part of the wider Maternity team in all areas of the Maternity Service as required.
Whether you are just starting out in your career or are looking to use your skills and experience in a new role, East Cheshire NHS Trust is the right employer for you. An organisation with a real sense of community we actively support and develop our staff to ensure our patients receive the best quality care, delivering the right care first time, every time.
COVID-19 vaccination remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course our patients from the virus when working in our healthcare settings. Whilst COVID-19 vaccination is not a condition of employment, we do encourage our staff to get vaccinated. We will be checking the vaccination status of all new starters as part of ongoing monitoring.
Please download a copy of the Job Description and Person Specification located under the Supporting documents heading to read more about the advertised role.
