We are looking for a positive, self-motivated EO to provide project support within a team delivering place
- based programmes in serious violence hotspots within the Engagement in Education and Serious Violence Unit of the Department for Education.

This unit is within the Local Accountability and Improvement Division. The division is welcoming and supportive and we are committed to recruiting and promoting a diverse workforce so that it is representative of the communities it serves.

**Job description**:
This role provides project support within the team responsible for delivering a number of place-based programmes in serious violence hotspots. These programmes (totalling £45m over 3 years) are working through mainstream schools and Alternative Provision schools to protect young people from serious violence who are truant and at risk of being permanently excluded. They are delivering evidence-based interventions to support young people with challenging behaviour, enabling them to attend school regularly so they can fulfil their potential and prevent costly poor life outcomes by inspiring them to exceed their expectations.

The EO post is within a 4-person Programme Management Office (PMO)Team, and works alongside a SEO, HEO and a Grade 7 team leader. The post holder will be responsible for working across the PMO and regional delivery team to provide essential support. This will include project delivery support such as processing of grant claims to a high standard; co-ordination of key business of state functions such as briefings and correspondence; and assisting in engagement with local areas e.g. answering queries, arranging events.

Some of the key responsibilities for this role on joining include:

- Provide essential support to the PMO and delivery team on ensuring effective delivery of the AP specialist taskforces
- Undertake checks and process grant claims for the programme
- Complete key business of state functions (briefing, correspondence etc.)
- Support project planning and progress monitoring

This is an excellent opportunity to gain a Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship. Please check the eligibility requirements below using the apprenticeship standard: Associate project manager / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
- You must have lived in the UK for 3 years prior to apprenticeship start date and not be undertaking another apprenticeship at the same time.
- Part of this apprenticeship is to complete a level 2 English and maths functional skills qualification. If you have already achieved GCSEs in English and maths at Level 4 (grade C) or equivalent or a higher grade, you will not need to complete the functional skills qualification.

At the enrolment state, the individual's eligibility will be checked by the training provider.

- Project delivery - you will need to be organised and flexible in your approach to respond to emerging priorities and meet.

**Desirable criteria**:

- Previous experience of working within a Programme Management Office and/or grant administration.

Desirable criteria will only be assessed in the event of a tie break situation to make an informed decision.
