E-referral Lead

We have an exciting opportunity for a permanent position as a Band 3 e-Referral Lead to join the Surgery team in the Patient Services Centre (PSC).

The role will require you to be the central point of contact for your team on the use of the e-Referral system and to provide a comprehensive administrative service for all aspects of the of e-Referral system including utilising the reporting functions. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated individual who will deliver a 1st class service to all of our patients.

Patient Services Centre (PSC) staff are hardworking, committed to patient care and often the first point of contact for the patients, they are responsible for:
Booking over 650,000 outpatient appointments each year, covering 50 specialties across the Trust
Booking first and follow up appointments, rescheduling/cancelling appointments, and clinic management
Making and receiving around 20,000 calls per month from patients

The E-Referral system is a secure booking site whereby patients can book into UHS outpatient services if the GP feels that an outpatient appointment is needed.

Your Responsibilities

**What you’ll do**:

- You will provide a comprehensive administrative service to support all functions of the e-Referral system including report monitoring
- You will share best practice and provide hands on training and ongoing support in your team for e-Referral

**What we’re looking for**:

- Demonstrable experience of providing high levels of customer service in a healthcare environment
- You will have experience of dealing with non-routine and complex problems & progress chasing
- You will have a proven ability to work to deadlines, prioritise and multi-task in a fast paced environment
- You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a forward thinking approach.

This is a full time post 37.5 hours per week Monday-Saturday. The PSC is open from 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 8:30-16:30 Saturdays to meet the needs of the services and there may be requirement to work within these times.
