Beacon Surgery in the beautiful East Sussex countryside is looking to recruit a Medical Receptionist/Administrator for our busy GP Practice. Applicants must be enthusiastic, friendly and able to work in a fast paced environment where you can make a difference to people’s lives every day.

The role includes being the first point of contact for our patients, dealing with queries face to face on reception, answering patient calls and enquiries, booking appointments and liaising with doctors and nurses. There are also daily administrative tasks which include dealing with prescriptions, photocopying and electronic filing.

As the first point of contact for patients it is essential that you have excellent communication skills, you are caring and have a warm and friendly manner. You will need to be highly organised, be able to work under pressure and be flexible to help provide staff holiday cover.

Previous experience of working in primary care and some knowledge of the EMIS clinical appointment and records system would be an advantage, but is not essential as full training will be provided.

An excellence in patient experience is pivotal to the role so we are looking for people prepared to go that extra mile and add value to our team. This can be a challenging job but it is definitely rewarding.

For job hours clarifcation, the position is for 13.5 hours (with monthly overtime available)
