Job Introduction

ROLE OF THE JOB

Day to Day key responsibilities of this post will be:
Co-ordinating and securing relevant Pupil, Live Birth/GP, SEN and Early Years data and information to be used in the Council’s pupil forecasting process and in the Department for Education’s School Capacity Survey.- Collating, analysing, maintaining, reporting, disseminating and developing pupil data and information working with the colleagues in the School Organisation and Resources Team and across Education and Skills Directorate.- Managing and amending Northumberland school catchment mapping areas and liaising with colleagues in Information Services Department to ensure accuracy on the Council’s Digital Mapping Service.- Providing advice and technical support to colleagues in School Organisation and Resources Team in relation to forecasting data.- Training of relevant staff to support pupil data functions.- Supporting the School Organisation and Resources Team in developing, collecting and maintaining identified performance measure and identifying service improvement opportunities.The post holder will be a team member within School Organisation and Resources Team, which forms part of the Education and Skills Directorate in Children’s Services. The team includes a wider variety of roles that support schools and academies in Northumberland including school organisation, student inclusion, admissions, school capital projects and business support.We are looking for a self-motivated individual with a natural affinity towards IT and problem solving, with a track record of experience in extracting, analysing and reporting on data using various relevant software systems.The post holder will be used to dealing with a high volume of work with the ability to provide accurate data, sometimes on an ad hoc basis with a short turnaround. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.We are looking for someone who can work independently when required but who is also a reliable team-player, comfortable with liaising with colleagues at any level within the Council and externally.The main location will County Hall but currently there is a system of hybrid working in place.- Salary starts at £26,421 rising in increments to £28,770- This is a permanent, full-time post based on 37 hours

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB

The applicant must have a good general education with 5+ passes at GCSE including strong passes in Maths and English or equivalent

NVQ Level 3 Information Technology or equivalent

Knowledge of GIS or other mapping systems.

Knowledge of Data Protection Act 1918
